competitiveThe single most important execution issue for goalies is to be in the right place
at the right time. To accomplish this to the extent where execution is automatic,
without having to think about it, you need to be repetetive in your practices and
you need to build upon each level of play.
Here is where we see a breakdown. The goalies at the younger level are given
something to learn, they spend hours and hours of time practicing, making it automatic,
only to find out later that it doesnt work at the advanced level of competition. But it doesn’t
stop there. Then the goalie has to overcome this automatic habit all while trying to put something else
in its place. Naturally, performance diminishes and confidence drops as a result. ( and everyone wonders why goalies are ""crazy" ! )
For the goalie, the goalie parent, the goalie coach as well as the organization’s goalie co-ordinator, our focus is to provide each with extremely individualized, high quality instruction, practice plans, and game analysis in order to help everyone get, and then stay, on the same page. Our goal is to help obtain immediate results in addition to developing a foundation upon which the mechanics of goaltending can be built. This in turn will enable the goalie to add to, and fill their toolbox to be used at competitive levels of play. Naturally, performance improves and confidence rises dramatically as a result. The obvious question then becomes,”where can this type of instruction be found?”
